JACOB DAHLSTRUP JENSEN

Danmark, f. 1985

The work of Jacob Dahlstrup Jensen consists primarily of delicate paperbased works and installational objects. His works pulls on the tradition of "nature morte", medieval woodcuts, baroque ornaments and the genre of maritime folk art including tattooing.

Jacob Dahlstrup Jensen has developed a unique technique of mark-making by the use of a tattoo needle. Through disrupting the paper structure with the work of the needle, a delicate textual line appears. This subtle almost vanity-like artistic expression stands in high contrast to the often disturbing context.
